Photo Focus: Lone Protester
This week's Photo Focus will be centered around "Lone Protester," a photograph I took on June 27, 2009, in Seattle, Washington.
Though most of my photographs depict old signs, towns, and buildings, from time to time I enjoy dabbling in street photography. As any street photographer will tell you, it's an exciting challenge that never fails to keep you on your toes.
I saw this protester while walking to Pike Place Market and felt compelled to take his photograph, even though at any given time in the city you can spot dozens of protesters. Something about this man stood out, so I took a few pictures and then continued on to my original destination.
By the time I left Pike Place Market about an hour later, the protester was gone, a horse-drawn carriage filling his spot.

Obligatory Introduction Post
Welcome to my photography blog! My name is Nicole Gillam and I'm a photographer based out of the West Coast of the United States.
I've created this blog for a variety of reasons, but all boil down to photography. My other interests, such as history and traveling, will be incorporated as well, but with a heavy focus on photography.
I look forward to sharing my love of photography with everyone and hope others will enjoy my posts as well. For those interested, my Flickr page is located here.
